Sleep consistency and target wake time

How Titan scores night-to-night sleep consistency, how it sets your target wake time, and how both show up in coaching and Titan Age.

Sleep consistency measures how close each night's time asleep is to your recent typical night. Target wake time is a separate number built from the clock times you woke up. Here is how Titan calculates both.

01Where to find them

Tap the Sleep card on Today to open the Sleep screen. The Sleep history chart has a Consistency view, shown as a percentage for each night over 7, 30, or 60 days. Target Wake Time sits in the Sleep target section. Tap it to expand the circadian coaching text.

02How consistency is calculated

Titan scores consistency from hours asleep. Bedtime and wake time do not count. For each night, Titan looks at the 7 calendar days ending on that night and takes the median of the nights that have sleep data. It then measures how many hours that night differs from the median, in either direction.

Titan divides the difference by 2 and subtracts the result from 100%. The score cannot go below 0% or above 100%, so a night 2 hours or more away from the median scores 0%.

Difference from 7-day medianConsistency
0 h100%
0.5 h75%
1 h50%
1.5 h25%
2 h or more0%

A night 1 hour longer than your median scores the same as a night 1 hour shorter.

The 3-night minimum

Titan needs at least 3 nights with sleep data inside the 7-day window, including the night being scored. With fewer, that night has no consistency value. A night with no recorded sleep also has no value. Titan does not treat it as 0. See how sleep is detected for which sleep session counts for each day.

03Target wake time

Your target wake time is the median wake time over the last 14 days. Titan uses the time each counted sleep session ended. If none of the last 14 days has a sleep session, the target shows 7:00 AM.

Staying within 30 minutes of the target counts as aligned. Titan compares last night's wake time with the target and pairs that gap with your latest consistency value to choose one coaching message.

Wake time vs targetConsistencyCoaching message
Within 30 min80% or higherTightly aligned with your circadian target
Within 60 minAnyClose to target, tighten your wake anchor by 15 to 30 minutes
More than 60 min75% or higherConsistency is solid, today's wake time drifted
More than 60 minBelow 75%Drift is high, aim for a stable wake time, morning light, and a steady pre-bed routine

A wake time within 30 minutes with consistency under 80% gets the "close to target" message. If Titan has no sleep session for the day, the card says coaching will appear once it has enough sleep sessions.

04Consistency and Titan Age

Sleep Consistency is one of the Recovery signals in Titan Age. Titan averages your daily consistency across the week and needs at least 4 days with a value to use it. Higher consistency moves your estimate younger.

To keep each night at 75% or better, stay within 30 minutes of your usual time asleep. Sleep debt and the sleep score cover how much you sleep.
