Titan reads your daily step count from Apple Health and compares it with a goal you set. This article covers where to change the goal, how missing days display, and how steps feed your Exertion score.
01Your step goal
The goal starts at 10,000 steps. To change it, tap your avatar on Today, open Your Profile, and use the Daily Step Goal stepper under Daily Targets. The goal runs from 1,000 to 30,000 steps and moves in steps of 500.
The goal is a reference line. The Today card shows your count against it, such as 7.2k / 10k, and the Steps screen tells you how far above or below the goal each day landed. Changing the goal does not change your Exertion score.
02Reading the Steps screen
Tap the Steps card on Today to open the full history. The window picker at the top switches between 7, 30, and 60 days, with 30 days selected by default. The summary shows your most recent recorded day, the window average, and your goal. Below it are a bar chart and a 60-day heatmap. Tap any day to see its total against your goal.
Missing days
A day with no step reading shows as unavailable. Titan does not count it as zero. The Today card shows a dash in place of a number, and the day readout says "Steps unavailable". The window average uses only days with recorded values.
Why totals change
Your iPhone and Apple Watch both record steps, and the watch can take a while to send its data to Health. A day's total can rise after Titan first shows it, most often for today and yesterday.
03Heart rate per step
The Steps screen shows a ratio called heart rate per step. Titan takes your most recent resting heart rate in the selected window and divides it by your average daily steps across that window. A resting heart rate of 55 bpm with an 8,000-step average gives 0.0069. The card lists both inputs and the date range so you can check the math.
The ratio falls as you walk more or as your resting heart rate drops. It does not measure walking efficiency or diagnose fitness. The card appears once Titan has both resting heart rate and step history.
04How steps add to Exertion
Steps add a small amount to your daily Exertion score on top of any workouts. Up to 700 steps add nothing. From 700 to 12,000 steps the bonus rises in a straight line to a maximum of 1.2 points. At 6,350 steps you get 0.6 points. Anything above 12,000 steps still earns 1.2.
Workout points and step points are added together and capped at 10. A day with no workout, fewer than 700 steps, and under 90 active calories scores 0. Any other day scores at least 1.0. The Exertion score article covers the workout side of the calculation.
