Trends charts your history in three groups called Training, Recovery and Body. Here is how to open it, what each chart plots, and why a chart can show gaps or a waiting message.
01Opening Trends
Tap the Trends card on Today. The card shows your current Training Load Ratio and a 7-day training load sparkline. The link titan://trends opens the same screen.
A control at the top switches groups. Trends opens on Training. Pull down to refresh.
Drag across any chart to read a single day. A series with no value that day reads "Unavailable".
02Training group
The period control offers 30 Days, 60 Days, 6 Months and Year. The default is 60 Days. Picking 30 Days also sets the Recovery group to 30 Days, and picking any longer period sets it to 60 Days.
Training load
Two lines plot long-term load in orange and short-term load in yellow. The load ratio, short-term divided by long-term, has no line of its own and appears in the drag readout. A shaded band marks the middle 50% of your daily long-term loads over the period. It needs at least 28 daily values and 80% coverage. Otherwise the screen says "Historical range unavailable". See training load for the math.
Training load focus
Three bars split your zone-weighted load into Low Aerobic from zones 1 and 2, High Aerobic from zone 3, and Anaerobic from zones 4 and 5. Each bar shows the load and its percent share. A note names the largest share.
Cardio distribution
One chart plots daily minutes in zones 2 to 5, and Weekly totals sums them by week. Zone 1 is left out. The weekly bars are grouped by default. To stack them, tap the avatar on Today, then You > Settings > App Preferences > Appearance, and set Trends Weekly Cardio Load Chart to Stacked.
Training details
- Recovery-based training. A 7-day rolling average of Exertion times 10 minus Recovery, needing 3 days of data. Positive values mean effort outpaced recovery. See Recovery-Based Training.
- Cardio fitness. Your VO₂ max from Apple Health in ml/kg/min.
- Heart-rate recovery. How far your heart rate drops after exercise, in bpm.
- Training adaptation. How much your daily HRV varies across a rolling 30 days.
- HRV baseline and Resting heart rate baseline. Rolling medians over your Recovery baseline window, with a floor of 7 days. Each point needs at least 7 readings and 60% coverage.
03Recovery group
The period control offers 7 Days, 30 Days and 60 Days. The default is 7 Days.
- Recovery and exertion. Recovery from 0 to 100 and Exertion from 0 to 10 on one shared scale.
- Heart rate variability. Your daily average and daily maximum HRV in ms.
- Resting heart rate. Your daily resting heart rate in bpm.
A Sleep and mood section follows:
- Sleep score. Your nightly sleep score.
- Sleep duration and need. Hours slept against your sleep need. Need equals your Sleep Debt Threshold, 7.5 hours by default.
- Sleep debt. Hours short of need for each night. See sleep debt.
- Mood. The daily average valence of State of Mind entries you log in Apple Health.
04Body group
The period control offers 7 Days, 30 Days and 60 Days. The default is 30 Days.
- Energy. Active, basal, consumed and net energy in kcal or kJ, as weekly totals by default. Set Weekly Energy Chart to 60 Day Line in Appearance for daily lines.
- Steps. Your daily step count.
- Distance. The summed distance of recorded workouts each day, in km or mi. Walking outside a workout does not count.
- Body mass. Your weight from Apple Health in kg or lb.
05Activity filters
Cardio fitness, Heart-rate recovery and Distance each have a menu with All Activities, Running, Cycling, Walking, Hiking, Swimming, Rowing and Other. Other covers every remaining workout type.
For Distance, Titan adds up only workouts of the chosen type. For Cardio fitness and Heart-rate recovery, Titan keeps a day's value only if you logged a workout of that type that day. Other days show as gaps.
06Waiting messages and gaps
Titan draws stored history first, then backfills missing days in the background. It recalculates training load, exertion, Recovery, and 60 days of sleep scores and sleep debt. Charts fill in as that work finishes.
Only Training load focus shows a waiting message: "Training Load focus will appear after Titan finishes backfilling heart rate zones history." It stays up when the period has no zone time at all. Other charts show gaps for days without data. If a chart stays empty, check that Titan can read that data in Apple Health, or reach us through the contact page.
