Record workouts with the Workout app on your Apple Watch, or with any watch app that saves to Apple Health, and Titan reads them from Apple Health. Titan has no workout recorder of its own.
01Record with the Workout app
Open the Workout app on your watch and start any activity type. When you end the session, Apple Watch saves it to Apple Health with its duration, activity type, distance if there is one, active energy, and every heart rate sample taken during the session. Third-party watch apps that write workouts to Apple Health work the same way. Titan treats every workout in Apple Health alike, whichever app recorded it.
Wear the watch for the whole session. Titan measures effort from the heart rate samples, and a workout saved without them gets an estimate from its duration.
02How the workout reaches Titan
Titan registers with Apple Health to be told when a new workout is saved. When that notification arrives, Titan waits a moment for the record to settle, then reloads your workouts and updates the day's workout count, heart rate zone minutes, and strength minutes.
The workout reaches Titan once your watch has synced it to Health on your iPhone. Pull down on Today to refresh if it hasn't appeared.
03What Titan does with it
The workout counts toward the Workouts card on Today and appears in the Workouts screen. Tap a session there for its details. Effort comes from the heart rate samples in the session. Titan counts the minutes you spent in each of your five heart rate zones and weights them from 1 for Zone 1 to 5 for Zone 5. That load feeds your Exertion score for the day and your training load in Trends.
A workout recorded without heart rate still counts. Titan estimates its load from duration multiplied by a factor for the activity category.
| Activity category | Multiplier per minute |
|---|---|
| Endurance | 1.0 |
| Mixed | 0.95 |
| Strength | 0.9 |
| Mobility | 0.65 |
| Other with distance | 0.95 |
| Other | 0.8 |
| Sauna or steam | 0.5 |
Sauna or steam applies to Other workouts once you rename the Other type to a label with Sauna or Steam in it. Find that setting at You > Your Training > Rename Other Workout.
04Strength sessions
Record a Traditional Strength Training workout on your watch so Titan gets the heart rate and duration. Titan counts the minutes of strength workouts each week toward Titan Age, and the heart rate samples set the session's load like any other workout.
05If a workout is missing
Check that the workout appears in the Health app under Workouts. If it is there and Titan does not show it, confirm that Titan can read Workouts and Heart Rate under Settings > Health & Connected Apps > Health Permissions, then pull to refresh on Today. A workout is missing or exertion looks too low walks through the remaining checks.
