Notifications and alerts

What each Titan notification does, what triggers it, how often it can repeat, and where to turn it on.

Published September 24, 2026

Titan can send six notifications. Three are alerts that react to your data and three are reminders at fixed times of day. This article covers the trigger and limits for each one, where to turn it on, and where the in-app captions describe something different from what Titan does.

01Turn notifications on

Every notification is off until you turn it on. Tap your avatar on Today, then go to You > Settings > Notifications.

  1. Turn on Allow Notifications. Titan asks iOS for permission the first time.
  2. If you denied permission earlier, Titan shows an Open Settings button. Allow notifications for Titan in iOS Settings, then return.
  3. Turn on each notification you want. The toggles stay greyed out until Allow Notifications is on.

The Notifications step in onboarding also offers Stress Alerts and Daily Report toggles.

Turning Allow Notifications off removes every pending and delivered Titan notification and clears the app badge. If you revoke permission in iOS Settings, Titan stops scheduling and switches Allow Notifications off the next time you open this screen.

02What each notification does

NotificationTriggerLimits
Stress AlertToday's Stress is at or above your Stress Alert Level, default 75Skipped within 30 minutes after a workout ends. At most once every 60 minutes
Health AlertsToday's HRV or resting heart rate is outside the 20th to 80th percentile of the previous 30 daysNeeds at least 5 days of data in that window. At most once a day. Sets a badge
Target Exertion ReachedToday's Exertion reaches 7.0At most once a day. Never sent while Rest Mode is on
Target Bedtime ReminderEvery day at 21:30Fixed time
Daily ReportEvery day at 07:00Scheduled only when Titan has more than 0 hours of sleep for today
Daily Tagging ReminderEvery day at 09:00Fixed time

03When Titan checks your data

Titan evaluates alerts only when the Today screen refreshes with the current day's data. If Titan has not refreshed, no Stress, Health or Target Exertion alert can fire, even when your numbers crossed the line hours earlier. When a check passes, the alert arrives about 5 seconds later.

The same refresh schedules the three daily reminders. Once scheduled, they repeat at their set time without Titan running. Turning a toggle off cancels its pending notification.

04Notes on each notification

Stress Alert

The alert reads the headline Stress score on Today, which runs from 0 to 100. Set Stress Alert Level with the minus and plus buttons, one point per tap, anywhere from 0 to 100. Changing the level cancels any pending stress alert. The caption says the alert fires when Stress exceeds the level, and it also fires when Stress equals the level. See Stress score for how the number is calculated.

Health Alerts

Titan builds a range from your daily HRV and resting heart rate over the 30 days before today. The range runs from the 20th to the 80th percentile of those days. If today's value falls outside it, the notification names the metric and sets the app badge to 1. Opening the Health card on Today clears the badge.

Target Exertion Reached

This alert fires when Exertion reaches 7.0, whatever your training goal. It does not read your personal target range. The caption says it fires when your Target Exertion has been reached, and the threshold is 7.0 for everyone. Rest Mode turns it off, see training goal and Rest Mode and exertion target.

Target Bedtime Reminder

The reminder fires at 21:30 every day. The caption says it arrives one hour before your Target Bed Time, and Titan uses the fixed 21:30 time for everyone.

Daily Report

The Daily Report is a 07:00 notification titled "Daily Report Ready" that asks you to open Titan. It contains no scores. Each refresh checks today's sleep and removes the report if Titan has no sleep hours for the day. The caption says the report includes your Recovery and Target Exertion Range, and the notification itself shows neither.

Daily Tagging Reminder

At 09:00 Titan sends a notification titled "Journal Reminder" that asks you to tag yesterday's factors. Tapping it opens Titan without opening the Journal. The caption describes a pop-up tagging sheet after you wake and open Titan, and Titan shows no such sheet. Open the Journal from the Titan Home Screen quick action, covered in Using the Journal.

05If notifications stop

Confirm both permission switches are on, then open Titan so Today refreshes. For Background App Refresh, Low Power Mode and Focus checks, see notifications not arriving.
