Connecting Oura directly

Connect Titan to your Oura account with a Personal Access Token, what each sync writes to Apple Health, and how to disconnect.

Published September 24, 2026

Titan can pull data from your Oura account with a Personal Access Token and write it into Apple Health. This article covers creating the token, each control on the Oura screen, what a sync writes, and what happens when you disconnect.

You reach Settings from the avatar on Today, then You > Settings.

01Get a Personal Access Token

Sign in to your Oura account on the Oura website and open the Personal Access Tokens page. Create a new token and copy it.

Titan sends the token only to the Oura API at api.ouraring.com. It stores the token in the iPhone Keychain and keeps it out of its own database.

02Connect in Titan

Open Settings > Health & Connected Apps > Data Sources & Integrations > Integrations > Oura.

  1. Paste the token into the Personal Access Token field.
  2. Leave Write Oura data to HealthKit on. It is on by default.
  3. Tap Connect Oura.

Titan checks the token against your Oura profile, saves it, and runs the first sync. A rejected token shows an alert that says the token is invalid or expired. An Oura access forbidden alert means Oura refused the request, and it asks you to check that your Oura membership is active.

03The controls on the Oura screen

  • Status shows Connected or Not Connected. Once connected, it shows the email on your Oura account, or your Oura user ID if there is no email, plus the time of the last sync. Before the first sync it reads Last sync never.
  • Write Oura data to HealthKit controls whether syncing happens at all. Turning it on starts a sync. With it off, Sync Now is greyed out and nothing new reaches Apple Health.
  • Sync Now pulls fresh data from Oura. It works only while you are connected and write-back is on.
  • Disconnect Oura appears once you are connected and asks you to confirm.

04When syncing happens

A sync runs in three cases. You tap Connect Oura with write-back on, you turn write-back on, or you tap Sync Now. There is no background sync. Tap Sync Now when you want new nights in Titan.

The first sync covers the last 30 days. Each later sync starts 7 days before the previous sync, so recent nights that Oura revised get rewritten. A sync never reaches back more than 30 days. If you go six weeks without syncing, the days older than 30 stay empty.

Before it writes, a sync deletes the Oura records Titan wrote earlier in that window, then writes the new set. Data from the Oura app, your Apple Watch, or any other source is left alone.

05What Titan writes to Apple Health

DataHow it is written
SleepOne in-bed block from bedtime to wake, plus one asleep block of your total sleep time starting at bedtime
HRVEach reading from Oura's overnight HRV series
Heart rateEach heart rate sample Oura returns
StepsOne daily total, midnight to midnight
Active energyOne daily total of active calories, midnight to midnight
Mindful minutesOura breathing, meditation, and relaxation sessions
WorkoutsOura workouts with activity type, active calories, and distance

Sleep arrives without stages, so deep, core, and REM stay empty for those nights. Titan does not write resting heart rate, blood oxygen, or temperature from the direct connection. Oura workout types Titan does not recognize are saved as Other.

06Make Titan read the Oura data

After the first sync, Oura appears as a source in HealthKit Sources. Open Settings > Health & Connected Apps > Data Sources & Integrations > HealthKit Sources > Sleep and set Oura as the Primary Source. Do the same for any other metric you want Oura to drive.

Choosing Oura under Settings > Recovery & Sleep > Sleep Preferences > Sleep Tracker does not pick up these records. That setting matches sleep the Oura app writes to Apple Health. For direct-connection sleep, use HealthKit Sources. The sleep source article covers both settings.

If the Oura app also shares with Apple Health, you will have two copies of the same nights. Set one as the Primary Source for each metric so Titan reads a single copy.

07Disconnect

Tap Disconnect Oura and confirm. Titan deletes the token from the Keychain, forgets the connection, and removes Oura as a primary and allowed source for sleep, workouts, HRV, heart rate, steps, active energy, and mindful minutes.

Records already written to Apple Health stay there. To remove them, delete them in the Health app. You can also revoke the token on the Oura website. If you connect again with a new token, Titan replaces the old one.
