Getting started with Titan

Set up Titan screen by screen, learn what each onboarding choice changes, how long scores take to settle, and how to read Today each morning.

Published September 24, 2026

Titan sets itself up in eight onboarding screens, and most of them change how your scores are calculated. This guide covers each screen in order, how much history Recovery needs, and a short routine for reading Today each morning.

01What you need

Titan runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later. The Apple Watch app needs watchOS 26 or later. Titan reads everything from Apple Health, so any device that writes heart rate variability, resting heart rate and sleep to Health can feed it. See wearables for other devices.

Wear your watch to bed. Sleep and the overnight HRV that Recovery prefers both come from the hours you are asleep.

02Onboarding screen by screen

Welcome

The first screen lists what Titan measures. Tap Continue.

Health Access

Tap Enable HealthKit and turn on every category in the iOS sheet. Titan moves on once iOS has shown that sheet. iOS never tells an app which read permissions you declined, so Titan cannot warn you about a category you left off. Skip for now moves on without the sheet. You can review access later at Settings > Health & Connected Apps > Health Permissions. Settings is reached from the avatar on Today, then You > Settings. See Health permissions.

Units

Pick Metric or Imperial, with Metric as the default. Pick kilocalories or kilojoules for energy. Show Translations adds plain-language guidance to each metric, and Hide Translations keeps labels technical. Change any of them at Settings > App Preferences > Unit and Language Preferences. See units and appearance.

Sleep Source

Titan lists every tracker that wrote sleep to Health in the last 30 days, with a "Last seen" time under each. Pick the one you wear to bed. If none is found, Titan keeps Apple Watch. Your pick is a priority. On a night with no data from it, Titan falls back to other Health sources. Change it at Settings > Recovery & Sleep > Sleep Tracker. See choosing your sleep source.

Recovery Baseline

Choose 7, 30 or 60 days. The default is 60. This window is the stretch of your own history that today's HRV and resting heart rate are compared against. A 7-day window reacts fastest to recent training and sleep. A 60-day window is the most stable. The window also sets how much history the full Recovery model needs.

Stress Baseline

Choose 7, 30 or 60 days for Stress. The default is 30. A 7-day window flags stress quickly after hard sessions, and a 60-day window gives smoother long-term comparisons.

The current version has no settings screen for either baseline window after onboarding, so pick deliberately. See baselines.

Notifications

Tap Enable Notifications and allow the iOS prompt. Stress Alerts and Daily Report then become available, and both stay off until you switch them on. A stress alert fires when Stress reaches your threshold, 75 by default. The Daily Report arrives at 7:00 each morning once Titan has sleep data. Adjust these later with the bell on the You screen or at Settings > Notifications. See notifications.

Upgrade to Pro

The last screen offers Monthly, Annual and one-time Lifetime plans. Every feature in the current version works without a purchase, so Continue Without Purchase finishes setup. Restore Purchases brings back an earlier plan. See Titan Pro plans.

03Your first week

Titan reads the history already in Health and backfills 60 days of Recovery. If you have worn an Apple Watch for months, your full baseline applies from day one.

On a new watch, Recovery starts with a simple fallback. Titan scores your HRV in milliseconds, capped at 100, and scores resting heart rate as 100 minus 2 points per beat above 40. Recovery is the average of the two. An HRV of 45 ms and a resting heart rate of 52 give 60. Treat these early numbers as rough.

The full model switches on once your Recovery window has at least 7 days of both HRV and resting heart rate, with data on at least 60 percent of the window's days.

Recovery windowDays of data needed
7 days7 of the last 7
30 days18 of the last 30
60 days36 of the last 60

Missed nights push these dates out. Until Stress has a baseline, it shows 100 minus your Recovery. Sleep consistency needs 3 nights before it appears.

04Each morning

  1. Open Titan after you wake and pull down on Today to refresh.
  2. Read your Recovery band. Low is 0 to 39, Moderate is 40 to 74, and High is 75 and above. Tap the card for its coaching note.
  3. Tap Sleep to confirm which tracker recorded last night.
  4. Check your Exertion target. The default Building goal sets a base range of 5.5 to 7.5. Recovery moves that range by up to 0.8 in either direction, centered on a Recovery of 60. When you are inside the range and Recovery is 65 or higher, Titan opens a stretch target up to 9.5. See exertion target.
  5. Tag yesterday in the Journal. Press and hold the Titan icon and choose Journal. It opens on yesterday. See using the Journal.
